The Wyrley and Essington Canal, part of the Birmingham Canal Navigations (BCN), once linked Huddlesford Junction to Ogley Junction on the BCN. That canal was abandoned many years ago with just a short spur remaining which is used for moorings by the Lichfield Cruising Club.
The Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust has plans to restore the missing route as the Lichfield Canal.
