The Approach to Hereford

Looking north from the top of Aylestone Hill, this shows the route the Herefordshire & Gloucestershire Canal follows into Hereford.  Having passed through Ledbury around 25km (16 miles) earlier, the canal approaches from the east (right) and comes a little closer to the camera before leaving to the west (left).
