< Old Double Locks Jn | Earlestown > |
This two lock staircase became know as the “Old Double Locks” to distinguish them from a newer two lock staircase built closer to St Helens. The canal is used for water management, taking the flow from the two branches which meet immediately beyond the footbridge just visible at the top of the locks.
